1child1community Community Connections (July 2017)
One Child One Community is a mentoring and school support program. The mentoring portion of our program is funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Education in partnership with Miles McClellan Construction and Columbus City Schools. Our volunteers serve as one-to-one mentors in 4 elementary schools and 2 middle schools, supervised by our Assistant Director and a mentor coordinator. During the 2016/2017 school year, 105 youth were matched one-to-one with a mentor. In the next year, we plan to add 80 more matches to our program. Yes, that’s right, 80 more students matched in one-to-one mentoring relationships!

Not only are we increasing the number of youth we serve, we also plan to enhance our program for our mentors and families as well. During the 2017/2018 school year, our staff will increase the academic components of our program, provide mentors with more training, and increase the number of opportunities for families to participate in meaningful experiences with their children and mentors.

Mothers Matter (May 2017)
It is the mission of Vineyard Columbus to develop a community of disciples who experience God, love one another, and partner with Christ to heal the world. Through various ministries, our staff and volunteers share the love of Christ with those they serve. One great example of such work is our Vineyard Prison Ministry partnership with Franklin Medical Center.

"Vineyard Prison Ministries has made an enormous impact on the lives of families over this past year. During June 2016-April 2017, 69 mothes were served and 40 mothers completed Mothers Matter!"

Transformed through Service: A Story from our 5th Avenue Food Pantry
 (April 2017)
During a recent visit to Vineyard Columbus' 5th Avenue Food Pantry, students from a nearby university participated in a transformational volunteer experience.

In short, their adviser shared, "It is the highlight of their semester. For many of my students that have never been to a big city, encoutered a person of color and certainly have never seen a ministry such as the Food Pantry. They start of scared to death and leave with such positive stories. We went to lunch afterwar and the students just gushed about what an amazing day it had been. They were so struck at how much Vineyard loves the community b the variety of services offered and the quality fo the food that was provided. A few were able to join me in praying with a lady at her car for physicial healing and she reported a decrease in her pain. That was a new and powerful experience for them as well!!! I am so grateful for our partnership!"
